Paradiso was asked to provide production services for the upcoming J. Balvin series titled A Great Day. Our deliverables were the Key Art and Promo campaign for the series, and that took us up the East Coast to Brooklyn NY. The production required a significant pre-Light day for both our production & photography teams. We brought director Miguel Ferrer for the ride, and had the pleasure of working with photographer Ramona Rosales for the Key Art.
The next day, we met with J Balvin to prep him on the schedule for the day. We had previously produced a few previous commercials with Jose in Miami and Los Angeles, and we quickly caught up. Just a humble, personable, kind soul. He brought a great energy to the production. We started with Photos, then jumped to video. We played with different colored backgrounds as we recorded his various tags for each episode.
It was a smooth day. Occasionally you work with a talent that perhaps is distracted with all the other things going on in their lives. J Balvin couldn’t have been more connected to the work. It was great catching up with him again, and we wish him and Peacock all the success with this important series, about life’s challenges, mental health, and finding the silver lining even in the most difficult times.
