Paradiso was invited by the film fam at Televisa Univision to provide production services on several commercials for Spectrum Cable. We’ve been blessed to produce many campaigns for Spectrum over the years, but this one was different. The client wanted to place the characters in many different settings over the 3-day production. After discussing the pros and cons of filming at practical locations vs filming in studio, we all agreed filming on the Unreal Engine was the most visual and efficient way to execute the creative on this campaign.
Director Miguel Ferrer and DP Randy Valdes spent about a month working with the Unreal tech over at Robot Studios in Miami to achieve the photo realistic worlds for each commercial. A Race Car screaming through the living room! Grandma teaching her granddaughter how to make a proper Molé while merging their kitchens together. A father and a son, watching a football game and literally being immersed INTO the game, with players getting tackled right in front of their eyes!
This one required an extraordinary amount of focus to detail, and a collaborative approach with all the parties involved. Once you get married to a background for the unreal engine, it is very difficult to make those adjustments on the fly. You end up lighting, rehearsing and set dressing to each background, so you’ve got to get it right. That we did! As I've mentioned before, Paradiso produces all over the world, but it's great to have this type of technology available in our backyard of Miami Florida.
Thanks to all the teams involved. Everyone brought their AAA game on this one!
